Tempered Glass Vs Laminated Glass

Laminated and Tempered both are strong and considered as safety glass but they are different in many ways. The strength of laminated glass depends on the material used for interlayers and number of glass layers used. On the other hand tempered glass strength depends on thickness of the glass panel and the process of heating and chemical treatment it goes through.

Considering the strength to withstand breakage, Tempered glass is considered stronger than Laminated glass. The main difference between these two glass types can be noticed when they break. When tempered glass break, it breaks into small blunt harmless pieces which successfully reduces the chances of injuries. But laminated glass don't breaks into pieces, the interlayer holds all the pieces togather.

Depending on these differences for some applications laminated glass is prefered and for others tempered glass.
